Startups Invited for IndiaAI Face Authentication Challenge with INR 2.5 Crore in Prizes

New Delhi: The Government of India’s IndiaAI initiative has announced the launch of the Face Authentication Challenge under the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative (IADI).

The program invites startups and technology companies to develop advanced AI-driven solutions for secure image verification and application de-duplication. With a total prize pool of ₹2.5 crore, the challenge aims to reinforce transparency, integrity, and fairness in large-scale public examinations.

Face Authentication Challenge to Drive AI-Powered Verification Innovation

The Face Authentication Challenge calls for the creation of robust AI applications capable of performing one-to-many facial matching for efficient photo verification and de-duplication across large applicant databases.

These AI-based systems must move beyond conventional logic-driven methods by leveraging advanced facial recognition algorithms that ensure every legitimate applicant receives a unique ID.

The initiative’s primary goal is to establish a secure, just, and merit-based examination system while enabling the solutions’ adaptability for use across government departments and state-level organizations.

Face Authentication Challenge: Exciting Rewards and Opportunities for Innovators

Up to 10 shortlisted teams will receive ₹5 lakh each to refine and test their AI models using sample datasets. Additionally, the two top-performing teams may earn a two-year contract and up to ₹1 crore for final deployment of their solutions.

The Face Authentication Challenge supports the Government of India’s vision of utilizing AI for inclusive growth, transparency, and responsible innovation.

Face Authentication Challenge: Applications Open Till 25th October 2025

Interested startups and enterprises can submit their applications through the official IndiaAI portal at indiaai.gov.in. The deadline for entries is 25th October 2025.
